Shoes!

Ooh! The online shop East Layne Shoes, where i'd spotted a gorgeous pair of bridal shoes, which had all sold out a few months ago, has more stock in! It's double the price now unfortunately, but still not overly expensive. I may wait though to see if they drop the price at all. If i check often enough i'll be able to grab a pair before they all sell out again, as they're available on ebay too.

Save the dates posted

We decided to stagger the postings, so they would all arrive at the same time and also to give us more time to finish them. Started Monday with the overseas Save the Dates and finished today with the local ones. They should all arrive on Monday for everyone.

We've picked out the wedding planner also, and kept within our budget. The location is the top of a hotel which is set up as a restaurant, with a gorgeous view out over Rome.

Babette

Babette Restaurant wrote back! Said they'd been having email problems and had only just received mine, which i sent 2 months ago. But they said their set menu included 3 courses, wine and bread, and was E43/48.  Might book it for the day before and get everyone there for dinner.

Wedding planner quotes

We've now got quite a list of quotes back. Prices ranged from $2200 to $4400; as you can see it's worth all the time spent shopping around.

Invitation papers bought

Spent $142 on papers at StampIt today. It's rather scary how quickly it all added up, and we're having quite a small wedding so it must be sooo much less than someone with a big wedding, especially if they have the invites made. I've still got regular sized double-sided tape to buy, along with a heart punch (they'd run out of the small ones), a cream gel pen, thin red ribbon and 32 red DL envelopes.

Have printed out the Save the Dates, and am waiting for Rob to bring his paper cutter over so we can cut them out. Also need the red ribbon and regular double-sided tape and the cream pen for addressing the envelopes before we can finish them and post them.

Save the Dates backing card

I've decided to set out the Save the Date invites as the magnet at the top of a C6 size piece of oyster card, with a strip of the patterned paper running horizontally across the centre below it, and the wording Wedding, with Rome, Italy under it on the left and the date on the right, then below that the same format for Celebration, Perth, Australia. I've been getting a few queries from friends who are planning to attend the Rome wedding (love the lovely friends :) it's a big cost for them but they're getting all exciting about seeing europe) so decided to send the Save the Dates out now rather than a year before, my original plan.

I went to StampIt Thursday after work to get the paper and supplies, but they shut at 5 before i got there, so i'm going tomorrow. Have to work out now how much of each i'll need. It's a small guest list, 31 addressees at the moment (for about 60 guests) and i'll need a few spares in case i mess some up, and also a spare for our shadowbox.

Save the Date: 8 oyster cardstock, 2 patterned paper, 30 red C6 envelopes

Invitations: 11 red cardstocks, 11 oyster paper, 1 red paper, 1 patterned paper, 40 red DL envelopes

Reception cards (Rome and Perth): 22 red cardstock, 22 oyster paper, 4 patterned paper

Response cards and Map: 22 red cardstock, 22 oyster paper

Accommodation: 11 red cardstock, 22 oyster paper, 2 patterned paper

Total: 8 oyster cardstock, 66 red cardstock, 9 patterned paper, 66 oyster paper, 1 red paper, 30 C6 red envelopes, 40 DL red envelopes, a cream coloured sharpie, a heart-shaped punch, some thin red ribbon, thin double-sided tape and regular double-sided tape.

Save the Date magnets have arrived!

They were waiting for me today in my letterbox when i got home from work. I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out. I probably won't send them out till September, but it's something ticked off my list of things to do.

I've been working on my Map and Accommodation inserts. I though i would give several options for people to stay, from apartments to 3 and 4 star hotels. I don't think anyone will do hostels which is my usual preferred accom, as they're so far from the centre of town. Still choosing a few then i'll do a map screenshot and paste it into Open Office.

Reception Cards

I've done the reception cards for Rome and Perth. We decided to put the 'no young children' wording on the Perth reception card, as we thought it unlikely any of the couples with young children would make it to Rome.

I've also ordered the Save the Date magnets from VistaPrint. Rob loved the design and so i submitted the order last Monday using the slow postage option, so i should have them by the end of this month.

In other news, i've done nothing else on the wedding in a month! I've just been too busy, and it's a long while away yet. 582 days to be exact, according to my counter.
